Today's lesson was about Video Technology and Camera. Mr Harry taught us about the aspect ratio of different format. We also cover topics such as White Balance, Depth of Field and Lightings.
White Balance.
Given a camera, we got to manually adjust the white balance in the room.
Depth of Field
During this topic, I have difficulty understanding about the Depth of Field. It took me sometime to really understand about it.
After Lunch, we're given an activity. We have to do a short In-camera editing. Douglas, Fadli and I decided that we'll do a theme about Greed. After we're done shooting, the video is being played. A couple of mistakes were pointed out which is crossing the line. We also discuss on how certain scene can be improved.
We had our break. Mr Harry took us out to the top of a hill, I don't remember the name of the place. We get to see San Francisco from the top. It's nice. I saw the Golden Gate Bridge and Mr Kean pointed out the Alcatraz Island. We also came across this guy who was doing an artwork using a spray paint. Almost all of his work are very nice.
We head back to Connerstone after that. This time, Mr Harry was teaching us about Lightings.
He showed us this small LED light. The shadow on this light were sharper. We can also adjust the colour temperature by using one of the lights.
After Dinner, Mr Harry told us to set up a 3 point lighting. It includes the Key, Fill and Back light. He also told us that it is possible to create a 3 point lighting using the sunlight. All we need is a 2 reflector. When the lesson is over, we put the equipment back together.
I stayed in my room and fall asleep. I woke up at 8pm and it was still bright outside. For a sec, I thought that it was already the next morning.
